Our relationship
with Denny Miyasato, owner of Hawaii-based Video Vend, exemplifies
our philosophy of responsive, caring customer service.
Since 1987, we
have provided Video Vend approximately $5 million for equipment
purchases. And over the years our help has gone beyond financing.
When Denny wanted
to acquire a competitor's business, he came to us for acquisition
advice. We compiled the data. We determined that the business
had long-term potential and advised Denny on the purchase
price with the seller. He proceeded with the purchase with
financing from the seller.
And then, unexpectedly,
there were business reversals. The Japanese economy had begun
to experience difficulties with enormous repercussions for
Hawaii. Video Vend's coin-op game business was not spared.
Denny began to experience cash flow difficulties of his own.
But, because of our relationship with Denny, we stood by him
when times got tough.
We provided debt
restructuring that allowed Video Vend to bring its debt service
in line with its available cash flow. And today, the company
is back on track in pursuit of a profitable future.
